ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Rochester Police say a man accused of robbing a Dollar Tree on June 21 is the same man also accused of robbing M&T Bank in Sweden.

Police say 49-year-old John Savage went into a Dollar Tree on Elmwood Avenue with a gun and stole cash. They also say a costume, cash, and a loaded gun were recovered as well.
Officers were able to take Savage safely into custody and he was brought to Monroe County Jail. He faces charges including robbery, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal use of a firearm, grand larceny and unlawful imprisonment.
On April 7, Monroe County Sheriff Deputies say Savage, along with Micheal O’Shea, forced a manager to open the safe and stole over $450,000.

Savage and O’Shea are both facing federal charges such as bank robbery, brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, and aiding and abetting a crime of violence.
