Grammy-nominated pop star Jessie J clarified her comments about her breast cancer being “gone” after undergoing surgery on June 21.
“I’m getting a lot of messages saying so happy the cancer is gone. To be clear, I added the [fingers crossed emoji] as it’s a hope not a fact,” the “Bang Bang” singer, 37, explained in a statement via Instagram Stories on Thursday, June 26. “I only had my surgery 4 days ago. I was just saying the pros of surgery and this situation and being positive.”
Jessie continued her message by telling fans that she will receive her results soon and “hopefully [she] can post that as a fact.”
“But for now, I don't know,” the England native concluded. “But I will stay positive and talk what I want into the universe.”Jessie’s message came hours after she shared the pros and cons of undergoing breast cancer surgery. The first bulletin on the list stated, “Cancer has all gone [fingers crossed emoji],” leading fans to believe that the operation was an instant success.
In addition, the “Price Tag” artist also gushed that she can enjoy the summer hit series Love Island “with no guilt,” and being able to enjoy conversations with her friends and family.
On the flipside, Jessie was “honest” and “silly” about the cons of the procedure.
“Not being able to be the Mum l'm used to being and not picking Sky up to or the person I'm used to being tbh,” Jessie wrote of her 2-year-old son, Sky Safir Cornish Colman, whom she shares with partner Chanan Safir Colman. “I don't sit down ever. Lol. The fear of not knowing if the cancer is all gone - the mental with this is [foggy emoji].”
