AARON Rodgers is mixing work with his home life to prepare for his final NFL season.
The 41-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers in June after months of speculation.
Rodgers missed a large part of the Steelers’ off-season activities as he delayed signing.
But the four-time Most Valuable Player is keen to make up for lost time.
He announced on The Pat McAfee Show that this will be his last season in the NFL.
Rodgers will soon head back to the team for training camp having been with them for mandatory mini camp.
But he also announced on the Pat McAfee Show his plans to get some extra work in with his new teammates.
“We have some guys coming out next week,” he said.
“So it’ll be fun to spend a little time with them.”
Rodgers didn’t specify which teammates would be joining him in Malibu where he lives.
But he’s keen to have a final year worthy of his talent after two years to forget at the New York Jets.
The quarterback was cut in March after the team finished with a 5-12 record last season.
Steelers training camp takes place from July 24 to August 12 at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.
Their season begins with a trip to the New York Jets, bringing an instant return for Rodgers to his old team.
“Yeah, I’m pretty sure this is it,” Rodgers said on The Pat McAfee Show.
“That’s why we just did a one-year deal.
“This was really about finishing with a lot of love and fun and peace for the career I’ve had.
“I’ve played 20 frickin’ years, you know?
“It’s been a long run and I’ve enjoyed it.
“What better place to finish it than in one of the cornerstone franchises of the NFL with Mike Tomlin and a great group of leadership and great guys.”
Rodgers won the Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers in the 2010 season.
He will face his former other team when the Steelers host the Packers in Week 8.
