Elvis Presley reigned supreme in Las Vegas for seven electrifying years, performing an incredible 636 shows at the iconic International Hotel between 1969 and 1976. While the original venue is long gone, its modern-day successor is keeping the King’s legacy alive in spectacular fashion. A newly unveiled luxury suite now pays tribute to the music legend, bringing Presley’s unforgettable Sin City era back to life.
The Westgate Las Vegas' Imperial Sky Villa honors the enduring legacy of the King of Rock and Roll. Originally built atop the hotel when it opened in 1969, this area was once home to the "Elvis Presley Suite," where the king lived during his legendary Vegas residency.

By the late 1960s, Presley's movie career had lost momentum, his record sales were slipping, and he hadn’t performed for a live audience in nearly a decade. His manager, Colonel Tom Parker, booked the king for a residency at Las Vegas' International Hotel as a way to stage a comeback and boost his credibility.
Presley's longtime friend, the late Lamar Fike, shared his recollections of the king's entrance into Las Vegas, per a story published by Nevada Magazine in 1995. “We had just finished the Singer special and had flown into Vegas for a rest, because we’d worked real hard on that," he began.
"The Colonel was in the front seat of the limo with his driver, and I was in the back with Elvis. The Colonel turned around with his cigar and said, ‘You know, we can take that show you just did and put it in Vegas and make a lot of money.’ Elvis looked at me, shrugged his shoulders, and said, ‘Sounds like we’re playing Vegas.”‘
Initially, Parker negotiated a million-dollar-per-year deal for the king. However, throughout his seven-year reign, despite breaking box office records, the Colonel never asked the hotel to raise Elvis's salary.
