ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A man has been charged in a shooting on Dayton Street off Hudson Avenue that left a 22-year-old with serious injuries.
Jahmel Jackson, 31, is charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon. The victim’s injuries were originally considered life-threatening but medical staff were able to save him.
Rochester Police say an argument over a woman between Jackson and the victim led up to the shooting on Wednesday, June 18. Officers found the victim around 8:30 p.m.
U.S. marshals arrested Jackson on Tuesday on Pullman Avenue after RPD identified him as a suspect. He was taken to the Monroe County Jail and is being held without bail after his arraignment.
