Kerkez is Arne Slot’s third signing of the summer, taking the club’s summer spending to £186million.

The 21-year-old has penned a five-year deal at Anfield after joining from the Cherries.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, he said: “I’m really happy.

“It’s a real honour for me, a privilege to come to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, [the] biggest club in England. I’m just really, really happy and excited.

“After this, I’ll go home and in my hometown enjoy a few days, and then I can’t really wait to come back and put the training kit on and start to train and prepare for the season.”

Having arrived at the club on Monday, Kerkez underwent his medical before being unveiled as their latest addition.

It follows a standout season in the Premier League last term for Andoni Iraola’s side.

Kerkez featured in all 38 matches, scoring twice and providing six assists from left-back.

His displays have also seen the defender nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award.

He will now link up with Liverpool’s first two summer signings ahead of their Premier League title defence.

Slot has already swooped for two Bayer Leverkusen stars as he closes in on spending £200million in the current transfer window.

Jeremie Frimpong has signed a five-year contract with the Reds after his £29.5million release clause was triggered.

The Dutch full-back will be joined by Florian Wirtz, who has also agreed a deal through to the summer of 2030.

His transfer represents a new British record fee with a guaranteed £100million rising to up to £116.5million with add-ons.

Fans could see the trio in action for the first time next month when Liverpool begin their pre-season campaign against Preston on July 13.
