One of the Last Living Legends Charts Astonishing Win 60 Years Into His Career

At nearly 80 years old, Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison can still dominate the charts.

The legendary musician, whose discography spans multiple genres, including—but not limited to—jazz, R&B, folk and rock, just scored yet another number one hit with his latest release, Remembering Now, which debuted in the top slot of the U.K.'s Official Americana chart, according to Forbes—his fourth "career leader" to date on the chart, following Keep Me Singing, Roll with the Punches and Three Chords and the Truth

The 79-year-old, who is just about six decades into his illustrious career, also made the top 10 on several other charts, missing out on just one, Official Albums, by a single spot.

On a nearly yearly album cycle, it's quite the feat to still be racking up top charting positions, although, according to the publication, it's been more than five years since his last No. 1.

Still, within that time frame, he's remained prominent on several top 10s, and has earned 54 hits on the Official Albums chart—nearly as many as the number of years as he's been producing music—an achievement that hasn't gone unnoticed by fans.

"It’s rather astonishing that someone about to turn 80 who’s been making great music since he was a teenager can produce something of such high quality and depth," one commented underneath his latest music video.

Someone else called him "One of the last living legends of the pure music era," as a third commented, "My album of the year, each song is a treasure."
