Miami has swiped a blue-chip recruit from Georgia’s 2026 recruiting class.
Vance Spafford had been verbally pledged to UGA since Nov. 5. Since then, however, he has added multiple Power 4 scholarship offers and taken some visits. After spending this past weekend in Coral Gables, Spafford announced that he is now committed to play for Miami.

Out of Mission Viejo (California) High School, Spafford is listed as measuring 5-11 and 175 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Spafford is rated 4-stars, the No. 9 wide receiver, No. 10 player in the state of California and No. 74 prospect overall in the Class of 2026.
As one of the top wideouts in the country, Spafford received scholarship offers from coast to coast. Beyond Miami and Georgia, 36 other programs showed interest in Spafford, including Alabama, Colorado, Auburn, Duke, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Nebraska, Mizzou, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Oregon, Tennessee, UCLA, Washington and USC.
