The employee, called Sinead, shared the bizarre encounter on the social media app TikTok.

In the video, Sinead explained that the customer tried to get away with only paying for a 5 cent bag, and then adding in her drink as a free extra.

At the bottom of the order, there is a section to place order requests, where you can make optional minor changes to your drink.

But this customer tried to order her entire drink as an optional request, something that was quickly seen and prevented.

On their order, the customer wrote on the request section: “Hi, could I please have a grande strawberry creme frap with no whipped cream and a strawless lid.

    “Thank you!”

But Sinead could only chuckle as she warned her viewers not to attempt this.

She explained: “This is not a Starbucks hack.

“It was a little bit funny but it won’t work. We canceled the order. Don’t do this.”

In the comments of the video, people were shocked that someone would attempt this.

One person wrote: “I was trying to figure out what kind of drink a handle bag was lol.”

Another person said: “They LOVE to do this in the request section like you’re not getting s**t for free babe.”

And a third person noted: “I genuinely have to ask what goes through people’s minds.”

    TIKTOK TREND

TikTok is now becoming a place where Starbucks goes for it’s inspiration, as it embraces a popular trend for drinks.

The coffee giant is currently testing out a new cold foam option that adds 15 grams of protein, as well as an unsweetened protein powder.

Starbucks is trialling a new drink, a sugar-free vanilla latte with banana foam, which is where the protein will come from.

The announcement comes as more members of Gen Z on TikTok show an interest in health-based beverages.

Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol said: “It’s on trend. It’s delicious.”

And he previously told Axios: “I was watching people coming to our stores, they would get three shots of espresso over ice.

“And in some cases, they pull their own protein powder out of their bag, or in other cases, they have a protein drink, like a Fair Life and they’d pour that into their drink.

“I’m like, well, wait a second, we can make this experience better for them.

“The good news is now I think we’re right on trend, and we can do it I think arguably better than anybody else.”

The new drink is currently only being tested at five Starbucks locations, and a potential launch date has not yet been given.
