Tyler Ritter, the middle son of the late comedy legend John Ritter, and Ritter's widow, actress Amy Yasbeck, made a rare public appearance together for a good cause on Sunday night.
On Sunday, June 22, the Motion Picture and Television Fund celebrated the start of summer with its NextGen Summer Party. This year, the event was a fundraiser specifically for those in the industry who were affected by the Los Angeles wildfires in early 2025.

Yasbeck and Ritter, who bears a striking resemblance to his late father, were all smiles together on the red carpet for the event. The annual fundraiser supports working and retired members of the entertainment community with a safety net of health and social services, though this year's event is specifically raising money for those who were impacted by the fires.
The event was hosted by actress Busy Philipps and was held on the rooftop of The Aster in Hollywood.

“At a time when so many of our friends and colleagues have been deeply impacted by the fires in Altadena and the Palisades, we are grateful for the support of our NextGen Board for bringing our community together at this year’s Summer Party to raise much-needed relief funds,” MPTF’s chief development officer Courteney Bailey said in a statement. “This next generation of leadership in the entertainment industry truly understands what it means when we say, ‘Caring is infinite.’”
John Ritter passed away suddenly in 2003 at the age of 54. What was initially thought to be a heart attack was actually an aortic dissection, and he died during surgery trying to repair it. Ritter was first married to Nancy Morgan from 1977 to 1996; they share three children — sons and actors Jason Ritter, 45, and Tyler Ritter, 40, and daughter Carly Ritter, 43, who is a singer/songwriter.
Ritter married Yasbeck in 1999, and they were together until his death; their son Noah was born in 1998. In a tragic and terribly sad coincidence, Ritter died on Noah's 5th birthday.
In his illustrious comedy career, Ritter was nominated for 10 Emmys, including a posthumous nomination in 2004 for his work on 8 Simple Rules. He won once — for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy in 1984 for Three's Company.
