Watch: Harry Brook turns into Rishabh Pant, slaps Ravindra Jadeja for 4 with outrageous shot

England National Cricket Team batting sensation Harry Brook stunned everyone with his audacious Rishabh Pant-like reverse scoop for a boundary off Ravindra Jadeja in the first Test.

Harry Brook played his outrageous shot on Day 3 of the first Test match between India and England at Headingley in Leeds on Sunday, June 22.

Brook, the England white-ball skipper, displayed batting brilliance in his team's first innings. He looked positive from the very start and took the Indian bowlers to the cleaners.

Harry Brook didn't even spare the best bowler in the world, Jasprit Bumrah, and danced down the track to hit a few brilliant boundaries to him.

Harry Brook was also given three lifelines during his innings, but he didn't make full use of them and fell one run short of a ton, scoring a brisk 99 off 112 deliveries.

Brook's innings was studded with 11 fours and 2 sixes, and one of the boundaries that he hit was quite audacious. On the first ball of the 79th over, spinner Ravindra Jadeja bowled a tossed-up delivery to Brook around off-stump.

Harry Brook got across the line, lapped the ball towards fine-leg for four, and in the process, he fell on the ground. It was a typical Rishabh Pant-like shot by Brook as the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman falls several times while playing unorthodox shots. Looking at Brook's shot, Michael Atherton, speaking on Sky Sports, said, "Anything Pant can do, Brook can do too!"

Jasprit Bumrah shines as India bowl out England for 465

The premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah bagged a sensational five-wicket haul for India, and he helped the visitors to bowl England out for 465 and take a small lead.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Mark Butcher showered rich praise on Jasprit Bumrah and labelled him as utterly outstanding. He said:

"Bumrah has been utterly outstanding. Irresistible fast bowling. He is an absolute champion."

Meanwhile, the legendary England pacer Stuart Broad said that Bumrah deserved all the applause from the Leeds crowd. He said:

“Bumrah has moved the ball more than anyone else, brought drama, bowled jaffas and deserves the fine applause he received from this crowd. But you do wonder whether he should have been brought into the attack earlier on."

Speaking about the situation of the match, former India head coach Ravi Shastri said that the hosts would be happy with their performance so far. He said:

"Game on – and at some pace. Over 900 runs have been scored and we still have a session to go on day three. It is set up beautifully and England will be happy where they are.

“They like a chase and if they can make inroads in the next session, which I think will be the best time for bowling, you never know."

Meanwhile, Mel Jones opined that KL Rahul's performance will be key for India in the second innings. Jones said:

"The youngsters stood up in the first innings but this will be a whole new challenge as they have to figure things out. Rahul will be important as he has the game nous. Then you have Pant in the middle order who can shift the game."
