King Charles is heading to Netflix.
On June 21, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that the King will be working alongside actor Idris Elba for a documentary that will air in 2026. The currently untitled doc will explore "the impact of The King's Trust," according to the report.
The King’s Trust, formerly called The Prince's Trust prior to Charles ascending the British throne, was founded by Charles 1976. He started out by using his Navy severance pay "to establish grants and initiatives for economically and socially vulnerable populations," according to Vanity Fair.
Over the past five decades, the trust has helped many young people achieve their dreams. Elba himself was a beneficiary of a grant from the King's Trust, which helped launch his career.

"When I was about 18 years old, I had the wonderful experience of auditioning for The Prince's Trust,” Elba said in a September 2020 Instagram post. "I was awarded £1,500 by The Prince's Trust that gave me my start and my career."
Elba has since become a Goodwill Ambassador for the trust.
"Nobody understands the impact of this work better than those who have experienced the support we offer first hand,” said Jonathan Townsend, U.K. chief executive of The King’s Trust (via The Hollywood Reporter). "As a long-term supporter and former beneficiary of The Trust himself, Idris will undoubtedly bring a unique perspective to this groundbreaking documentary as he peels back the layers of our story and shows how our life-changing work is as relevant today as it has ever been."
Elba and Charles are set to begin filming for the groundbreaking documentary in about a week's time. The finished product is scheduled to air in 2026.
