Matthew McConaughey's upcoming Apple TV+ project is coming to an unexpected halt.
The series, which he's starring in alongside Woody Harrelson, has temporarily suspended production after showrunner David West Read walked away from the project, just two episodes before they were set to wrap.
According to Deadline, eight episodes of the brothers comedy series had already been shot when the entire cast, including Holland Taylor, Natalie Martinez and Brittany Ishibashi, were sent home late last week.
The series, which is rumored to be titled Brother from Another Mother, is reportedly loosely based on McConaughey and Harrelson's real-life longtime friendship. Their friendship is pushed to the limits when their combined families attempt to live together on Matthew's ranch in Texas.

Sources say that veteran comedy showrunner Lee Eisenberg is set to step in to finish up the season. Eisenberg previously worked on shows like Jury Duty and Little America and recently created and executive produced Apple TV+'s limited series Lessons In Chemistry.
McConaughey and Harrelson are also executive producing the series — but it's not the first time they've worked together. The duo previously starred in True Detective and have maintained a friendship for decades.
"Where I start and where he ends and where he starts and I end has always been a murky line, and that's part of our bromance, right?" he said on the Let's Talk off Camera with Kelly Ripa podcast in 2023. "My kids call him Uncle Woody, his kids call me Uncle Matthew."
As of right now, there's no set date for the cast to return to set in Texas and it's unknown when filming will resume. Deadline reports that the new showrunner will likely take some time to tweak the series' creative direction before filming resumes.
