LeBron James lined up for stunning post-retirement link up with Michael Jordan following $375million Tom Brady path

Michael Jordan and LeBron James may soon become even bigger rivals.

The GOAT debate might be taking an interesting twist in the near future.

Front Office Sports has reported that the growing partnership between James and Amazon could possibly pave the way for James to join Prime’s NBA coverage.

This comes on the heels of Jordan being announced as a “special contributor” to NBC’s NBA coverage next season.

The initial report was that NBC was going to pay Jordan $40million annually, but that number since been debunked.

However, it seems like James may have an interest in following Jordan’s footsteps despite admitting that ‘ruthless’ MJ has kept him at arm’s length throughout his career.

After all, Fox gave Tom Brady a record-breaking ten-year, $375m deal.

    Why not try TV?

James will be entering his record-breaking 23rd season next year, and will be 41 by the time the calendar turns to 2026.

He has also taken to the court alongside his son, Bronny, to fulfil a long-time dream.

In other words, his time on the court is nearing its end, and while he hasn’t come out and said anything definitively, this upcoming season could very well be his last.

Upon retirement, James will have the freedom to do quite literally whatever he wants.

Movies, TV, entertainment, business, you name it, and he will have the opportunities to do it.

Well, what about partnering with one of the biggest companies in the world and joining their NBA coverage?

According to FOS, that is a very real possibility.

Last July, Amazon and the NBA announced an 11-year media rights agreement, beginning next fall with the 2025-26 NBA season.

Since then, the media conglomerate has been putting together an A-list team for its coverage:

A star-studded team that so far includes Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki, Blake Griffin, Dwyane Wade, Udonis Haslem, Candace Parker and Taylor Rooks.

And James could be joining the cast if he decides to hang up his basketball shoes, in exchange for a microphone.

Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports revealed that he wouldn’t be surprised if James eventually joined Prime in some capacity.

“Where there’s smoke, there’s fire between LeBron James and Amazon,” McCarthy wrote.

“The growing business relationship between the basketball superstar and the nation’s largest retailer could lead to King James eventually joining Prime Video’s upcoming coverage of the NBA, sources tell Front Office Sports.”

However, McCarthy believes Amazon won’t be the only one after James’ services.

“Prime, NBC, and ESPN would be “compelled” to talk to James, say my sources,” McCarthy said.

Time will tell what James decides to do, but with Brady’s monster deal, and Jordan’s rumored big contract, it makes sense for James to explore all of his options.
