When the son of a prominent American businesswoman (Uma Thurman) is kidnapped from a high-end New York hotel, suspicion quickly falls on some seemingly ordinary British citizens who were at the hotel on the night in question.

The businesswoman is American media mogul Katherine Newman and her 21-year-old son is Leonardo. The Britons are Natalie Thompson, Tara McAllister, Aadesh Chopra, Sean Tilso and Eddie Walker.

They find themselves in a trans-Atlantic cat and mouse race to evade the combined forces of the National Crime Agency and the FBI to prove their innocence.

But it soon becomes apparent not everyone can be trusted.

The question is then who is really behind the mysterious abduction and who is only guilty of being in the wrong place at the wrong time?
