GANANDA, N.Y. — The Gananda Central School District is holding a re-vote on Tuesday on a revised budget after residents voted down the original budget in May.
The vote is happening from noon to 9 p.m. at the Richard Man Elementary School Gymnasium. If this vote fails, the school board will adopt a contingent budget.
The original $28 million budget failed by just over 100 votes. The budget aimed to maintain class sizes, athletic programs, and college-level courses, and buy three new buses, two diesel and one gas.
The new budget proposal is $200,000 less than the previous one. While most school budgets across the region passed, the budgets for the Caledonia-Mumford and Oakfield-Alabama school districts were also voted down in May.
