ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Congressman Joe Morelle honored local Vietnam veterans at an event in Rochester on Monday. The ceremony took place at 11 a.m. at Farash Place on East Avenue.
Morelle delivered remarks, thanking the veterans for their service, and handed out specially made pins. He said the pins symbolized the veterans’ sacrifices and our remembrance.
Morelle called the event a “long overdue thank you.”
“Those of you who served your country with distinction. And I hope you’ll wear this pin and wear it as a well-deserved symbol of pride of who you are, of what you’ve accomplished, and of the country’s lasting appreciation for your sacrifice,” Morelle said.
Veterans at the event also received a certificate of congressional recognition for their service.
