Iconic '80s band The B-52s may have wrapped up their farewell tour in 2023, but they're hitting the road once again this fall — and they're joining forces with another legendary new wave group.
On Monday, June 16, the band announced that they're embarking on a co-headlining tour with Devo later this year after they felt inspired when both bands performed at the SNL 50 concert earlier this year.
In a statement published by Rolling Stone, Fred Schneider said that though he's set on avoiding the tour bus life, this tour was simply an "extraordinary opportunity we couldn’t say no to.”

The band has been teasing the announcement on Instagram, and now, fans finally know they'll have the chance to see both The B-52s and Devo performing together on the Cosmic De-Evolution Tour later this year.

As Rolling Stone reports, the 11-date tour will begin on September 24 in Toronto before continuing on through several states in the U.S. through November, with stops in Michigan, New York, California, Texas, and more.
Devo frontman Mark Mothersbaugh is also excited about the opportunity, as he shared in a statement.
“The B-52s had one of the best sounds of any of the bands out there in the late seventies and early eighties – ‘Rock Lobster’ is one of my favorite songs – Devo used to sing it to Booji Boy after Devo shows,” he said. “It was either fate or luck or the SNL anniversary that brought us all together to create this amazing chance to go out on tour. All I can say is Cosmic Devolution is REAL!”
If you're hoping to be there, you'll want to grab tickets as soon as they go on sale, starting on June 20 at Live Nation, though pre-sales begin June 16.
