ROCHESTER, N.Y. – An RPD officer was hospitalized after a car crashed into his police vehicle near Third Street and Central Park on Sunday.
The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. while police were responding to a domestic call. A 25-year-old man drove a Ford sedan head-on into the officer’s car while the officer was inside, officials said.
The driver attempted to get away on foot but was caught by police. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for a medical evaluation.
The officer was rushed to Rochester General Hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
