CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- The "No Kings" march and rally are happening all over the country on Saturday, including in Uptown Charlotte, to protest ICE Operations and the Trump Administration.
Charlotte rally seeks peaceful protest against ICE and President Trump this weekendThe event started at 11 a.m. in First Ward Park with many people chanting and bringing signs with messages. Many road closures are in effect, including CATS' Gold Line service, while protesters march through Uptown.
The roads closed during the march are: North Brevard Street, East Fifth Street, North Caldwell Street, East Fourth Street, North Tryon Street and East Seventh Street.
CMPD says officers are on-site supporting public safety during the event.
