Three men are facing felony charges after investigators said they answered online ads to buy sex from children.
The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that investigators had posed as minors selling sexual acts on local websites and forums earlier in the week. More than 100 people responded to the listings, and three men showed up at an agreed-upon location to buy sex, according to a release from the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies met the men, arrested them and booked them into the Larimer County Jail on felony charges.
All three men — a 43-year-old from Wellington, a 34-year-old from Windsor, and a 24-year-old from Grand Junction — were issued a $30,000 bond on charges of soliciting a child prostitute, internet luring of a child, cybercrime – soliciting to arrange a minor prostitute and attempted sexual assault on a child.
“Trying to buy sex from a prostituted child is inexcusable,” Larimer County Sheriff John Feyen said in a release. “These operations shine a light on the depravity that exists — even in safe communities like ours. Our investigators will continue working to stop predators from harming our children.”
The Northern Colorado Drug Task Force and the 8th Judicial District Attorney’s Office helped with the investigation.
