ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Golisano Behavioral Health and Wellness Center celebrated its five-year anniversary Thursday.
Located on South Avenue in Rochester, the center opened in June 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Its mission is to increase outpatient care in the region and address a growing pediatric behavioral health crisis.
“I’m autistic, and I’m trans. I have mental health issues, so it can be a little bit difficult for me to talk to people who don’t fit any of those categories, but coming here, it’s just like I met so many people like me,” said Morrigan Baleno, a patient at Golisano Behavioral.
The center was established with a $5 million gift from Tom Golisano in 2017. Morrigan Baleno’s father, Rob Baleno, shared his gratitude for the center.
“I mean you saved his life. You saved his life, so, as a dad, that’s all you can ask for,” said Rob Baleno.
The center continues to play a vital role in the community by providing essential services. Click here to learn more about Golisano.
