The dramatic events of Holy Week from triumph to betrayal come to the small screen in the latest installment of biblical series The Chosen.
In the fifth season of the Prime Video epic, The Chosen: Last Supper, Jesus’s final days are chronicled as he enters Jerusalem acclaimed as king and confronts corrupt temple merchants.
While religious leaders plot against his growing influence, he shares a final meal with his disciples.
And in the shadows, Judas’ treachery sets in motion a chain of events which changed the course of history.
Created, directed, and co-written by filmmaker Dallas Jenkins, the show stars Jonathan Roumis as Jesus with Shara Isaac as Simon Peter and Elizabeth Tabish as Mary Magadelene.
This latest season leads up to the death of Jesus but it is not the final one in the series, here are two more seasons to come before the historical drama concludes.

Jonathan Roumie stars as the leading character Jesus in the The Chosen.
The American actor, 50, has played Jesus in all five series of The Chosen and is for his role as evangelist Lonnie Frisbee in the 2023 film Jesus Revolution.
He has also appeared in As The World Turns, Parenthood, NCIS, The Good Wife and The Mindy Project.
And he is the narrator for the Catholic Prayer app Hallow.
Shahar Isaac

Isaac trained at Shakespeare’s Globe in London and has appeared on stage in Salome and The Merchant of Venice.
On television, he has had roles in The Good Fight, Madam Secretary and Price for Freedom.

Paras Patel takes on the role of Matthew, a tax collector who became one of Jesus’s disciples.
American actor Patel, 38, made his acting debut in the TV film Teen Spirit and recently starred as Rajit Nadir in The Shift.
He has also appeared in Jesus Revolution, For The People, Fresh Off The Boat and Nashville.
Elizabeth Tabish
Elizabeth Tabish is Mary Magdalene (Photo: David Heisler/ Prime Video)Elizabeth Tabish is Mary Magdalene, one of Jesus’s closest followers who is said to have witnessed his crucifixion and resurrection.
American actress Tabish, 39, recently played Molly Garner in The Shift and Violetta Petrosyan in Between Borders.
She has also appeared in Panic, Freedom on Trial and Portal.

Season one was shot around Pooleville and Weatherford in Texas, with some filming taking place in a studio in Dallas.
Season two was filmed in Utah, where a replica Jerusalem movie set built by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons).
Season three moved filming back to Texas and the city of Midlothian, picked because of its similarities with the Middle East in topography and weather.
A $20m production complex was built on the 1,200-acre site of the Salvation Army’s Camp Hoblitzelle in Midlothian.
Crews returned to this set for both seasons four and five, although the start of filming for five took place at the set in Utah.
When is The Chosen season 5 on and how many episodes are there?
Season five of The Chosen premieres on Prime Video on Sunday 15 June.
There are eight episodes in the fifth series: Entry, House of Cards, Woes, The Same Coin, Because of Me, Reunions, The Upper Room part I and The Upper Room Part II.
They will be released on successive Sundays, two on 15 June, three on 22 June and the final three on 29 June.
Viewers will need a subscription to Amazon Prime Video to watch the series, along with the previous four seasons, which start from £8.99 a month. There is a 30-day free trial available.
