Veteran England batter Jos Buttler has surprised the cricket world by revealing his ultimate “dream batter,” and it’s a blockbuster mix of legends across the world. However, Jos Buttler has surprisingly not picked any of the England greats in his dream batter lineup.
Speaking on the Love of Cricket Podcast, Buttler picked India’s batting icon Virat Kohli for his iconic cover drive, calling it a thing of beauty. Virat Kohli’s cover drive is pure elegance that has made many of its fans.
With a perfect balance, high elbow, and flowing follow-through, the dashing right-hander threads the gap between cover and extra cover with ease, and it’s just mesmerizing to watch.
For rock-solid technique, the former England captain has selected the ‘Wall,’ Rahul Dravid, for defense. The legendary Indian batter and former head coach was known for his ultimate wall of resistance. Dravid's defense was built on technique, patience, and mental strength.

When it comes to attitude, the English batter crowned the West Indies great Sir Viv Richards as the ultimate symbol of confidence. He was known for his fearless attitude that intimidated bowlers.

Another West Indies legend, Chris Gayle, was Buttler’s favorite man for brutal six-hitting power. Gayle’s six-hitting ability was just unmatched. It was the combination of his raw power, perfect timing, and fearless strokeplay that made the ‘Universal Boss’ a nightmare for the bowlers.
And to complete the package, Buttler said the overall dream batter would be none other than South African legend AB de Villiers. The former South African captain was known as "Mr. 360" because of his rare ability to play shots in every direction of the ground.

Whether it was behind the wicket, over the keeper, scoops, reverse sweeps, or powerful drives, AB de Villiers could hit the ball anywhere. And the Proteas legend’s unorthodox style, quick footwork, and creativity made him one of the most dangerous batters of his generation across the formats.
