ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RG&E and the Arc of Monroe have teamed up to relaunch the Investment Recovery Program, which provides employment and guided support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The program currently employs two participants at the Arc of Monroe. They work at RG&E’s Scottsville Road facility five days a week, sorting materials off utility poles for recycling.
“These are two RG&E employees. We are just coaching them through the ups and downs, the ins and outs, of holding a job that’s brand new to them,” said Luke Mayo, the director of business relations for The Arc of Monroe.
The Investment Recovery Program was first launched in 1992.
