POLICE REPORTS
The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymously report crime information, call 707-463-6205.
SHOTS FIRED: Caller in the 500 block of Ford Street reported at 2:36 a.m. June 8 hearing shots fired. An officer checked the area and reported not finding any related activity.
ASSAULT: Caller in the 1000 block of Albright Place reported at 8:20 a.m. June 8 that an assault occurred there. An officer responded and arrested Mark E.A. Smith, 32, of Ukiah, on suspicion of domestic violence. He was booked into Mendocino County Jail.
THEFT: Caller at Walmart on Airport Park Boulevard reported at 11:03 a.m. June 8 that a theft occurred. An officer responded and arrested a 53-year-old Hopland man for petty theft with priors and violating his probation. He was booked into county jail.
SHOTS FIRED: Caller in the 1300 block of Laurel Avenue reported at 2:17 p.m. June 8 hearing shots fired. An officer checked the area and reported not finding any related activity.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: Caller in the 400 block of East Gobbi Street reported suspicious circumstances regarding a male in the area at 11:09 p.m. June 8. An officer responded and reported that the person was gone. At 11:23 p.m., a caller at the same address reported a disturbance. An officer responded and reported that the person was counseled.
TRESPASS: A caller in the 500 block of East Perkins Street reported at 11:18 p.m. June 8 that someone was trespassing. An officer responded and reported that the person left.
DISTURBANCE: A disturbance involving a male subject at the Ukiah Library on North Main Street was reported at 11:26 p.m. June 8. An officer responded and reported that the person was gone. At 11:46 p.m., an officer performing security checks in response to the report of an open door at the Ukiah Library noted that all doors were secure.
DISTURBANCE: A disturbance at the Post Office on South Orchard Avenue was reported at 11:29 p.m. June 8. An officer responded and reported that the person was gone.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: An officer responded to the 100 block of Cleveland Lane at 12:33 a.m. June 9 and arrested Christopher A. Lopez, 35, of Ukiah, on suspicion of domestic violence and violating his probation. He was booked into county jail.
CAMPING: Caller in the 1100 block of Airport Park Boulevard reported at 6:43 a.m. June 9 that two people were camping near a building. An officer responded and reported that the people left upon request.
CAMPING: Caller in the 1200 block of Airport Park Boulevard reported at 6:44 a.m. June 9 that several people were camping there. An officer responded and cited a 35-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman for violating city camping codes.
BURGLARY: Caller in the 900 block of River Street reported at 9:35 a.m. June 9 that a storage container had been burglarized. An officer took a report.
CAMPING: A caller on Mulberry Street reported a disturbance at 12:23 p.m. June 9. An officer responded and cited and released a 57-year-old woman for violating city camping codes and state regulations regarding polluting waterways.
HIT AND RUN: Caller at the corner of North State and East Smith streets reported at 2:02 p.m. June 9 that a hit and run occurred. An officer responded and arrested Mitchell R. Thronson, 38, of Ukiah, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and hit and run. He was booked into county jail.
THROWING ROCKS: Caller at the Ukiah Library at 7:22 p.m. June 9 reported that someone was throwing rocks at the building. An officer responded and arrested a 30-year-old Ukiah man for being drunk in public. He was booked into county jail.
Those arrested by law enforcement officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the information is in error should contact the appropriate agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcement agencies are reported by the newspaper. The Daily Journal makes no exceptions.
