An Air India flight carrying 242 passengers from Ahmedabad to London has crashed after takeoff. A video shared online shows the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashing in a residential area and smoke rising.
The plane took off at around 1:47pm local time (8:17am GMT), slightly behind schedule. According to officials, it crashed just nine minutes after being cleared for takeoff, reports added.
Fire fighters have arrived at the scene, and emergency teams are being deployed. The authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the crash.
