Beach Boys co-founder Brian Wilson has died aged 82, his family have said in a statement.
Wilson co-founded the group in the early 1960s alongside his brothers, Dennis and Carl, their cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine.
Wilson, the eldest of the three brothers, would go on to write hits including ‘Surfin’ USA’, ‘Good Vibrations’ and ‘God Only Knows’.
His family said in a statement: “We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved father Brian Wilson has passed away.
“We are at a loss for words right now.”
