Oklahoma City Thunder vs Indiana Pacers Game 3: Betting odds, predictions, pick & promos

Game 3 of the NBA Finals occurs on Wednesday, June 11, at 8:30 pm ET. This marks the first game in Indiana at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

In Game 2, Oklahoma City got a massive win, beating the Pacers 123-107. The Thunder were 11-point favorites and still covered despite the 111-110 loss in Game 1.

Below, I’ll cover my predictions and picks for Game 3.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs Indiana Pacers Game 3 betting preview

The Thunder got off to a hot start in Game 2, took the lead, and really never looked back. At halftime, the Thunder led 59-41 and weren’t outscored in a single quarter until the fourth, but that was only by three points (33-30).

As a team, the Thunder shot 48.8% from the floor (40 of 82), including 14 of 36 from 3-point range (38.9%). The team also shot 29 of 33 (87.9%) from the free-throw line. They had 43 rebounds, 10 steals, and 42 points in the paint.

These all led the Pacers. The Thunder also committed fewer turnovers (13 compared to 15). Five players had double-digit points, including Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (34), Alex Caruso (20), Jalen Williams (19), Aaron Wiggins (18), and Chet Holmgren (15).

As for the Pacers, they shot 37 of 82 from the floor (45.1%), including 14 of 40 from 3-point range (35%). However, they shot just 19 of 26 from the free-throw line (19 of 26).

The Pacers moved the ball around well (27 assists) and had more blocks (6-4). Interestingly, both teams took the same number of shots overall, but the Pacers attempted four more 3-point shots and made the same number as the Thunder.

The Pacers had seven players with double-digit points, including Tyrese Haliburton (17), Myles Turner (16), Pascal Siakam (15), Aaron Nesmith (14), Benedict Mathurin (14), Andrew Nembhard (11), and T.J. McConnell (11).

    Thunder vs Pacers analysis

Game 2 went exactly how I thought this series would go from the jump, but I feel as though the Thunder were perhaps a bit rusty from the extended rest in Game 1.

Of course, back in Indiana, things can shift, but the Thunder defense is going to continue to play strong like they did in Game 2 and hold the Pacers to around 35% from 3-point range or potentially less.

One of the Pacers biggest strengths is their ability to play uptempo, but the Thunder can match that.

From there, if the Pacers can’t get hot from the 3-point line, I’m not sure they can contend with the Thunder on mid-range shots or in the paint.

The Thunder are 23-19-1 against the spread as a road favorite, while the Pacers are 5-6-1 as a home underdog.

Thunder vs Pacers Game 3 picks

I’m taking the Thunder here. I prefer the moneyline to err on the side of caution with this game being in Indiana, but getting -5 in this game as opposed to -5.5 at other books makes me feel a bit better.

I just think the Thunder defense will continue to play tough, and they’ll keep pace with the Pacers.

    Take the Thunder here.

Pick Thunder -5 (-114) at FanDuel
