ELLIOTTVILLE, N.Y. – The National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado touched down near Ellicottville Monday night in Cattaraugus County.
The tornado was classified as an EF-1 with wind speeds reaching up to 110 mph. It tore trees from the ground and snapped power poles in half. The tornado’s path stretched about 2.5 miles long and 600 yards wide.
