ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A man will spend 23 years in prison after being found guilty of manslaughter for beating a man inside and outside of a Rochester food market, who died.
A judge sentenced Quintel Crockton on Monday. The beating happened in August of 2023. Rochester Police say they found Terran Felder, 61, dead inside Quick Food Market on Jay Street by the time they arrived.
Police say Felder tried to escape his attacker, only to be followed inside the store. A prosecutor spoke to News10NBC at the sentencing.
“I’ve never seen such a brutal murder without a weapon. It was caught on surveillance footage. It caught the defendant stomping his foot down on Terran Felder’s head repeatedly, seven separate times,” said Assistant Monroe County District Attorney Kevin Sunderland.
Both Crockton’s family and Felder’s family were at the sentencing. Crockton has apologized to Felder’s loved ones. He was also sentenced to five years of parole.
