Thayne Jasperson is dishing on the Hamilton Broadway cast reunion.
The actor, who was part of the original company of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hit musical — and is still part of the current cast of the Broadway show — exclusively told Parade what it was like when the gang got back together.
“It is truly the most magical thing in the world,” he said on the red carpet of the 78th annual Tony Awards. “Getting to be back with the original creators and artists that made this show possible, I feel like I've warped time and I've stepped into a magical land, and then I went back to do the matinee [of Hamilton] today, and I'm like, ‘Oh, now I'm back.’ It's crazy. I don't know, it's so surreal.”

Jasperson has been on and off with the Broadway musical since it premiered in 2015 at the Public Theater Off-Broadway.
When the cast started to rehearse for their performance at this year’s Tony Awards, Jasperson, 44, told Parade that his fellow performers were all saying the same thing.
“Everybody was like, ‘Thayne’s gonna whip them into shape.’ Because, you know, I've been doing the show for 10 years,” Jasperson said. “And so I walked in, and I was like, ‘All right, y'all better pick it up!’”
He explained, “It was so fun because everybody's got babies. Everybody looks amazing, but they have babies and families now, so some of them haven't danced in years, so it's actually really fun to see everybody pick back up into it.”

One of his favorite memories from a decade ago, when the musical opened on Broadway in 2015, is writer and star Miranda constantly incorporating changes on its road to Broadway.
“Lin used to leave the room at dinner breaks, come back and suddenly he's like, ‘I wrote ‘Quiet Uptown,’” Jasperson explained. “It was amazing. Like every day the process of growth and change was phenomenal.”
