Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Eliza Dushku has left acting behind for what she revealed has been a “deep calling.” Dushku opened up about her journey as she shared a moment that was a decade in the making.
Taking to Instagram, Dushku shared a video of herself walking across the stage at her graduation from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she earned her master’s degree. The 44-year-old also included photos and videos of her with her husband, Peter Palandjian, and her two sons running up to her after her graduation.

“Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Lesley University, May 2025. Graduating with my master’s degree (!!) feels like more than an achievement—it feels like a deep calling realized. True growth, energy, and passion—manifested,” she began her caption.
Dushku admitted she’s been working on this goal for nearly 10 years. The actress expressed gratitude for this moment before acknowledging those who have been by her side through it all.
She has gotten plenty of support on this journey from her family, friends, and the community she has found. Dushku thanked everyone for their encouragement and support as she transitioned to this new chapter in her life.
“Today, I stand grounded and ready to support others on their journeys of becoming—through self-discovery, healing, and transformation. The connectedness I feel in holding safe, compassionate space for those who seek the undertaking is such lifeblood now. To possibility, hope, and healing, all. Non sibi sed toti,” Dushku stated.

In an interview with Boston Magazine in 2024, the Bring It On star admitted that pursuing psychedelic therapy was her calling. Dushku's grateful to have the means and opportunity to shift gears at this point in her life.
After decades in Hollywood, Eliza Dushku has started a new career where she gets to help others heal.
