Former Haas F1 team principal Guenther Steiner could soon make a return to the world of motorsport in an unexpected arena.
Steiner, who led Haas from its F1 debut in 2016 until his departure from the US outfit ahead of the 2024 season, has been out of team management since being replaced by Ayao Komatsu.
While he's remained visible in the paddock as a TV pundit, no F1 return has materialized. Now, the charismatic Italian may find his next challenge under the Liberty Media umbrella once again, but this time in the world of two-wheel racing.
Talks Underway with Tech3
Steiner is reportedly in discussions with the Tech3 MotoGP outfit about joining the team in a currently undefined role.
Tech3 boss Herve Poncharal confirmed contact with the former Haas team boss, who may come on board as an investor, partner, minority shareholder, or in a sponsorship-related role.

“There are quite a few people [interested], from various places, from Formula 1,” Poncharal said ahead of this weekend’s Aragon Grand Prix.
“But there is a name that is always coming out [in the media], and it’s Guenther Steiner.
“So yes, we spoke with Guenther, who is a very nice, very straightforward and I like that a lot.
“He has a lot of experience in motor sport. But at the moment, it’s only talk and people explaining to me what their vision is, what they would like to do.
“He could be coming as an investor, as a partner, a minority shareholder, helping with the sponsorship.”
Timing and Uncertainty Spark Movement
The discussions come at a time of uncertainty for Tech3, amid rumours – denied by KTM – that the Austrian manufacturer might reduce support for the team by 2026.
