Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir urged to avoid the roadshows in the name of a victory celebration. Gambhir also recalled India's victory in the T20 World Cup 2007, where he wasn't in support of having a roadshow to celebrate the title triumph.
Gambhir released the statement after 11 people lost their lives in a stampede in Bengaluru during the IPL-victory celebrations of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Indian head coach and newly appointed Test skipper Shubman Gill was presented at the press conference, and a reporter asked about the stampede incident in Bengaluru.
Gambhir stated that he is not a believer in having roadshows after winning a title, as people's lives are more important rather winning a title.
"I was never a believer that we need to have roadshows. When I was playing, I had the same statement to make, even after winning the 2007 [T20 World Cup], that we should not have road shows," Gautam Gambhir stated in a press conference.
India's head coach advised people to remain a little bit aware of these kinds of roadshows, and the victory celebration must take place in a closed-door setting or at the stadium in the future to celebrate any big win.
"I think lives of the people are far more important. I will continue to say that, even in future, I think we can be a little bit aware of not holding these kind of roadshows, and can probably have it in a closed door, or something like this, in a stadium.
Gautam Gambhir condolense
Gautam Gambhir was devastated after the incident, and his heart goes out to the families who lost their loved ones in the stampede. Gambhir agreed that fans get excited after their favourite team wins the championship, but they have to take care of such mishappenings.
"It is very tragic what happened yesterday, and my heart goes to the families, the people who've lost their loved ones, and I hope in future, nothing like this can happen, because I think we all are responsible, and we all are responsible citizens, and we should take care of all this. Gambhir added.
"And if we are not ready to hold a roadshow, we shouldn't have done that. As simple as it can get. I know fans do get excited, everyone gets excited, the fan bases get excited, but nothing can compare to what has happened yesterday."
The Indian head coach didn’t believe in roadshows and was not in favour of having this type of celebration in the future either. If the management cannot handle the massive crowd, then these road shows will not happen in the future, he said.
Roadshow in Bengaluru
The roadshow in Bengaluru turned into a tragic incident, where, in between the celebration, more than 30 people got injured and 11 people lost their lives during the road show.
RCB announced a financial support of INR 10 lakh to the families who lost their loved ones and also announced an RCB Cares fund to those who got injured in the incident. Earlier, the Karnataka government also announced INR 10 lakh to the families as aid.
