HUBBARD TOWNSHIP — A Pennsylvania woman was arrested after a township officer was injured in a crash Wednesday morning.
Latoya Gibson, 37, of Farrell, was charged with OVI and cited for assured clear distance ahead, according to a news release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Warren Post.
A 2011 Lincoln Navigator, operated by Gibson, was traveling northbound on Wick Campbell Road behind a marked Hubbard Township Police Department patrol vehicle that was stopped at the Chestnut Ridge Road intersection, according to the release.
The Lincoln struck the rear of the cruiser, which resulted in the officer driving it being transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital by the Hubbard Fire Department with minor injuries.
The patrol said Gibson was impaired at the time of the crash and drugs and alcohol are suspected factors.
