I am a loud believer that Act 2 of Wicked has the better music. Songs like “For Good” and “As Long As You’re Mine” are better than “Defying Gravity” to me. And that’s why I’ve been so excited about Wicked: For Good.
Wicked has always been about friendship. One of my favorite parts of the new trailer for For Good is how it brings up the importance of Glinda (Ariana Grande) and Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) as friends. “You’re the only friend I’ve ever had,” Elphaba says. “And I had so many friends. But only one that matters,” Glinda replies. That, to me, is what Wicked is about.
