One woman was killed and three other people were injured when a driver ran a red light and his car hit another vehicle in Pacific Beach on Wednesday night, the San Diego Police Department said.
The accident took place around 9:55 p.m. Wednesday, when a 21-year-old man behind the wheel of a 2013 Corvette with a passenger in the car was traveling southbound on 4500 Mission Bay Drive.
The driver of the Corvette ran a red light at the same time that a Jeep was attempting to make a turn onto Grand Ave., also with a passenger, and struck the vehicle.
Mission Bay DrivePolice said that the passenger of the Corvette was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name and age was not immediately available.
The driver of the Corvette had fractured his left leg, knee, and ankle.
The driver of the Jeep had a complaint of pain, and her passenger had a fractured right leg and femur.
Driving under the influence was suspected to be a factor in the crash, according to SDPD.
