AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Hamilton Pool Preserve has temporarily closed off water access due to recent rain and high bacteria levels, according to Travis County Parks.
It is unclear when the pool could be reopened for swimming, but TC Parks said it could be as early as Friday. The preserve is still open for hiking, but a reservation is required.
“When we do allow swimming, only a very limited portion of the pool is available for water access due to the continuing problem of falling rocks,” TC Parks said. “As always, whether swimming will be allowed depends on factors beyond our control, such as bacteria levels and recent rain. Water access is never guaranteed with a reservation.”
