ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Section Five baseball crowned three champions on Sunday.
In Class A, top-seeded Pittsford Mendon defeated Eastridge, 7-1, allowing only four runs across three sectional games.
Wellsville, also a top seed, secured a victory over Le Roy in Class B.
Fillmore, the six-seed in Class D, pulled off an upset by defeating Arkport-Canaseraga, 5-4. The Eagles advanced from the subquarterfinals to claim the title.
Pittsford Mendon and Fillmore will move on to the New York State Regional, while Wellsville is set to play in the subregional later this week.
Mendon will play Section VI’s Amherst, scheduled for Friday at Innovative Field. Fillmore is scheduled to play Section VI’s Franklinville on Saturday at noon at McDonough Park in Geneva. Wellsville will play Medina on Thursday at Dwyer Stadium in Batavia.
