(KRON) – USA Today has recognized a Sonoma County camp as the top glamping location.  

If you’ve never heard of glamping, it’s “glamorous camping.” USA Today calls glamping “where adventure meets luxury.” 

    Located in Santa Rosa, Safari West is a 400-acre private preserve that is home to giraffes, rhinos, zebras, cape buffalo, cheetahs, wildebeest and more. Visitors can go on multiple safaris, learning about the animals, the world of wildlife care and conservation.

    The wildlife park is also referred to as the "Sonoma Serengeti.” Per Safari West, the preserve is a “living celebration of conservation.”

    According to Safari West’s website, the tents are imported from Botswana. The park has approximately 30 tents, which are all equipped with hardwood floors, private viewing decks and en-suite bathrooms.

    In addition to glamping, the site also has a restaurant, Savannah Café. This eatery has cuisine inspired by the South African Braai, which is similar to American barbecue.
