A pedestrian was fatally struck by an SUV while attempting to cross the 805 early Thursday morning.
The woman was struck around 5:20 Thursday morning as she attempted to cross traffic lanes on the northbound 805 to 43rd Street.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her name and age were not immediately available.
The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation, the California Highway Patrol said. Alcohol or drugs did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
The circumstances surrounding the crash were unclear, but the CHP was investigating.
