Few celebrity couples are as readily recognizable by the general public as Kelly Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos. Among the most publicized power duos in the contemporary entertainment industry, Ripa and Consuelos have since channeled their close-knit relationship to one another into their popular talk show, Live with Kelly and Mark.
As further proof of the couple's mutual attraction to one another, Ripa and Consuelos shared some surprising details about their home life on a recent episode of Live with Kelly and Mark -- to the shock and amusement of the live audience in attendance, no less.
While discussing parenthood with guest Amanda Peet, the 54-year-old Ripa and the 54-year-old Consuelos outlined some saucy perks that come with being empty nesters.
While Ripa admitted that it was hard saying goodbye to her children as they moved out one-by-one, it slowly became easier to adjust to the new household as time went on.
"Let me just say this," Ripa told Peet. "The first one is like a bit of a shock. Each one, like the second one, is like, no big deal. Third one, for 24 to 48 hours, you're going to be like, 'Oh my gosh, what have we done now? Now it's just us.'"
"And then your entire life becomes nudity in the household whenever you want," Ripa concluded with a laugh. "Total freak show all the time."
Ripa and Consuelos have been married since 1996, sharing a total of three children together: Michael, 27, Lola, 23, and Joaquin, 22, the latter of whom recently graduated from the University of Michigan earlier this May.
In spite of their busy home life, Ripa and Consuelos have hinted they remain regular intimate contact with one another -- something humorously mentioned when the couple revealed their daughter Lola had accidentally walked in on them on two separate occasions.
"Hopefully, by the time she turns 24, we'll be done having sex," Ripa jokingly concluded.
