NCAA Baseball Tournament 2025 action begins this week, and it’s shaping up to be another massive postseason for SEC baseball.
On Monday, the full bracket was revealed with 13 teams from the league making the final cut. Within that, the SEC swept the top 4 national seeds and produced 6 of the top 8, meaning those teams have a chance to host through the Super Regional round.
That gives the SEC a favorable path to producing multiple College World Series teams across the next couple of weeks. In fact, the SEC has 4 of the top 5 spots in the latest odds to win the College World Series produced by DraftKings. Remarkably, Vanderbilt, the No. 1 overall seed, only has the 6th-lowest odds to win it all in Omaha at +1300.
As a reminder, the regional round features a double-elimination format. Regionals will be played from Friday, May 30, through Monday, June 2, for “if necessary” games.
So, what is the path for those programs at the top of the odds? Let’s take a quick look at the regional matchups now that the bracket is set.
No. 3 Arkansas (Hosting Fayetteville Regional)
Odds to win CWS: +475 Opponents in regional round: vs. North Dakota State; winner/loser of Creighton/KansasThough the No. 3 seed, Arkansas, is still the odds-on favorite to win it all in Omaha. The Razorbacks have never won the CWS and have not been back to the CWS Finals since a 2018 runner-up finish.
Arkansas will face North Dakota State to open the bracket in what looks to be a manageable regional draw for the Razorbacks. However, it must be said that Arkansas has not reached the Super Regional round in each of the last 2 NCAA Tournaments.
If the Razorbacks advance, they would host the winners of the Knoxville Regional.
No. 6 LSU (Hosting Baton Rouge Regional)
Odds to win CWS: +550 Opponents in regional round: vs. Little Rock; winner/loser of Rhode Island/Dallas BaptistLSU is no stranger to deep postseason runs, winning it all in 2023 behind Paul Skenes and Dylan Crews. The Tigers finished as the 3-seed in the SEC this season but maintain one of the best pitching staffs in the country with a 3.72 team ERA.
The duo of Anthony Eyanson and Kade Anderson gives LSU 2 formidable starters at the front of the rotation, and Casan Evans has been electric in his 16 appearances (3 starts). Combine those numbers with a 30-5 home record for the Tigers this season, and LSU looks to have a great shot at rolling all the way to Omaha via the safety of Alex Box Stadium.

No. 14 Tennessee (Hosting Knoxville Regional)
Odds to win CWS: +700 Opponents in regional round: vs. Miami (OH); winner/loser of Cincinnati/Wake ForestThe reigning College World Series champions, Tennessee has not looked like Tony Vitello’s squads of the past throughout the 2025 campaign. The Vols did go 29-9 at home, but they have lost 4 straight series in Knoxville entering the postseason.
Not having to face SEC opponents likely helps in the regional round, though Wake Forest is formidable as a top-50 squad in runs scored and ERA this season. The Vols will need some arms to step up in the regional round behind Liam Doyle and Marcus Phillips to get through.
Without the pressure of being a top-8 seed, all the Vols need to worry about is “survive and advance” before thinking about a potential Super Regional matchup vs. Arkansas.

No. 7 Georgia (Hosting Athens Regional)
Odds to win CWS: +1000 Opponents in regional round: vs. Binghamton; winner/loser of Oklahoma State/DukeGeorgia lands a top-8 seed, which the Bulldogs undoubtedly deserve, but the draw in Athens has the potential to pose some problems. Oklahoma State and Duke are two power conference competitors, and both present some challenges.
Oklahoma State is among the top pitching staffs in the country with a 4.33 team ERA, and the Blue Devils have some big-time power with 99 home runs on the season. (Only 13 teams in the country reached 100+ long balls prior to the NCAA Tournament, but the Bulldogs led the nation with 133.)
If the bats stay hot, Georgia should be fine, but a 4.83 team ERA cannot be totally overlooked.
No. 5 North Carolina (Hosting Chapel Hill Regional)
Odds to win CWS: +1000 Opponents in regional round: vs. Holy Cross; winner/loser of Oklahoma/NebraskaUNC is looking to advance to its 5th Super Regional in the past 7 NCAA Tournaments, including the 2024 season, when the Tar Heels took down LSU in a dramatic Game 7 to win the Chapel Hill Regional. This season, the Tar Heels draw SEC foe Oklahoma and Big Ten Tournament champ Nebraska, but that should ease the pressure.
North Carolina has a top-5 team ERA in the country at 3.42, and neither the Sooners nor the Huskers has a top-50 offense by runs scored. That’s the kind of matchup that should allow UNC’s pitching staff to shine, provided the offense provides a spark early on.
