SHANNON Sharpe has released a statement over his planned podcast live tour.
The former NFL player hosts a show with ex-wide receiver Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson.
The podcast has continued despite allegations surrounding Sharpe, as has his show Club Shay Shay.
The 47-year-old has stepped aside from his role on First Take and work with ESPN.
He was accused of sexually assaulting a woman when she was just 20 years of age.
The ex-NFL player has maintained his innocence and denies the shock claims.
He has found more time in his schedule after taking a break from ESPN and First Take.
Sharpe planned to take Nightcap on tour this summer.
But Sharpe released a statement on the latest episode of Nightcap confirming a change of plan.
“We’ve decided to postpone the Nightcap tour,” Sharpe said.
“We look forward to seeing you guys in the summer of 2026.
“It’s going to be even bigger, even better.
“But Ocho and I have come to the conclusion that this is the best thing as of right now, was to postpone the tour.
“We look forward to seeing each and every one of you in 2026.”
Sharpe’s announcement came after an anonymous woman claimed that her nearly two-year relationship with the former NFL star ended in two horrific rapes.
She said the two met at a Los Angeles gym in January 2023 and had a consensual relationship before Sharpe started manipulating and controlling her.
In October 2024, Sharpe, 56, allegedly “violently sexually assaulted and anally raped” the woman as she desperately cried for him to stop, court documents seen by The U.S. Sun state.
The same horrific attack allegedly took place in January in Las Vegas, Nevada, the suit claims.
This came after months of Sharpe allegedly “threatening to brutally choke and violently slap” the woman and refusing to “accept the answer no.”
Sharpe released a statement on Instagram maintaining his innocence.
He said, “The relationship in question was 100% consensual.
“At this juncture I am electing to step aside temporarily from my ESPN duties,” he said.
“I will be devoting this time to my family, and responding and dealing with these false and disruptive allegations set against me.
“I plan to return to ESPN at the start of the NFL preseason.
“I sincerely appreciate the overwhelming and ongoing support I have received from my family, fans, friends, and colleagues.”
