Tommy Robinson has been released from prison four months early after serving a jail term for the civil offence of contempt of court.
Robinson, 42, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, was sentenced to 18 months in prison in October after he admitted multiple breaches of an injunction made in 2021.
The injunction barred him from repeating false allegations against a Syrian refugee who successfully sued him for libel.
The far-right figure emerged from HMP Woodhill with a full beard on Tuesday morning.
He was originally due to be released on 26 July. However, last week his sentence was reduced by the High Court after it was deemed he had shown a “change in attitude” since he was sentenced.
When asked how he was feeling after his release, The Sun reported Robinson said: “Unfortunately the country doesn’t believe in free speech.”
