Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati on Monday felicitated the top-performing students of the 2025 High School Certificate Examinations conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (ICSE).
In a special ceremony held at the New Abhishek Hall of Raj Bhavan, the Governor congratulated the toppers, and urged them not only to excel in academics but also to strive for excellence as responsible citizens in the future.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Kambhampati praised the students for their discipline, dedication, and sincerity, which led to their remarkable achievements.
He described the toppers as “bright stars,” whose success reflects not only their personal excellence and perseverance but also the unwavering support of their parents and the guidance of their teachers.
He extended his congratulations to the parents and teachers for their sacrifices, encouragement, and mentorship, which played a pivotal role in the students’ success.
The Governor emphasized that academic success is just the beginning of a long journey.
He encouraged the students to remain humble, curious, and committed to uplifting others, stating that their achievements should serve as a foundation for becoming ethical and influential members of society.
Highlighting the National Education Policy 2020, he noted that it empowers students for holistic development and equips them to meet the challenges of the modern world.
The event was graced by Odisha’s First Lady Jayashree Kambhampati, who also honored the toppers, their parents, and teachers. The ceremony began with a welcome address by the Governor’s Principal Secretary, N.B.S. Rajput, who extended greetings to the meritorious students, their parents, and teachers. A total of 25 toppers from BSE, CBSE, and ICSE were felicitated on this occasion.
The Governor wished the students a bright future and inspired them to continue their journey of knowledge, setting an example for others through their character and compassion.
Srujan Kumar Barma of DePaul School, Berhampur who topped the ICSE Class Xth with 99.40%, was felicitated at the ceremony in the presence of Rev. Fr. Ricardo Pradhan, C.M., Principal of DePaul School, Berhampur.
