Earlier this week, Costco fans discovered that the big-box giant had released a new food court item. For $6.99, shoppers can indulge in a Calzone Combo—a Hot Pocket-esque treat stuffed with sausage, pepperoni, cheese, onions, mushrooms, olives, and peppers.
Now that the Calzone Combo has been available for a few days, opinions are starting to roll in on social media, and let’s just say, food court goers aren’t too sure about the new item.
Taking to Reddit, one Costco fan started a thread, asking, “Anyone had one of the Calzones yet?”
“Over 1K calories. Yikes!” one user responded, referring to the 1,080 calorie count.
“I actually had it the other day (Lansing, Michigan). It's alright. It's kind of like a big slice folded on itself, so it has a ‘crust’ (which you can see in the photo). I felt like it was a little overcooked, but maybe it was just my location. I don't think it'd be something I would get very often, but I don't regret trying it. I think regular pizza is better,” added another.

“Yes! It was perfection and a steal for $6.99,” a third shopper wrote, while a fourth said, “Had them at Costco in Korea a while ago, they were really bad.”
Taste aside, a lot of shoppers also expressed confusion over the ingredient list. On the Calzone Combo poster it reads: Pepperoni/Sausage, Cheese/Tomato Sauce, Onions/Peppers, Olives/Mushrooms.
Given the formatting, it’s easy to assume that four different Calzone Combos are being offered. However, the item comes packed with all eight ingredients.
If you’re not feeling the Calzone Combo, the U.S. Costco food court still has fan favorites like hot dogs, pizza, chicken bakes, chicken Caesar salad, and more.
