AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man in Hays County was sentenced to serve nearly three centuries in prison Monday after being convicted on seven charges related to child sex crimes.
According to the Hays County District Attorney’s Office, 57-year-old Vincente Gonzalez was convicted of two counts of continuous sexual abuse of a young child and five counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact.
The DA’s office said Gonzalez was a "multi-generational predator" who sexually assaulted minors who "lived in his home during different periods of his life." The victims were between the ages of 8 and 13 at the time of the abuse, according to the DA’s office.
The 298-year sentence was the maximum that could be given. Continuous Sexual Abuse carries a punishment range of 25-99 years or life without the possibility of parole, and Indecency with a Child carries a punishment range of 2-20 years.
