The value of trade between Egypt and the US reached approximately US$ 2.7 billion during the first quarter of 2025, while Gulf countries accounted for 54 percent of the volume of trade between the US and Middle East countries during the first quarter of the year, with a total volume of $34.7 billion in that time
According to data from the US Census Bureau, the total value of trade between the US and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries reached $ 18.8 billion during the first quarter of 2025, the privately-owned al-Shorouk newspaper reported on Tuesday.
The UAE topped the Gulf countries as the largest trading partner of the US, with a trade value of $ 8.8 billion in the first quarter, followed by Saudi Arabia with $5.8 billion.
According to the bureau, trade between Kuwait and the US recorded the largest growth among America’s Gulf partners, increasing 59 percent compared to the first quarter of 2024.
Total trade between the US and its top 10 trading partners in the Middle East in 2024 amounted to approximately $146.4 billion, according to the bureau’s data.
The US has maintained significant trade surpluses with most of its partners in the region, driven by strong exports in the technology, aviation, and energy sectors.
The Gulf countries, in particular, stand out as the most important regional markets for American goods and services.
